Kinetic Labs Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Homer, an AI-powered apartment hunting assistant. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Phone number — used for account verification via SMS OTP
  • Search preferences — budget, desired neighborhoods, apartment size, amenity preferences, and dealbreakers
  • Chat messages — your conversations with the Homer assistant
  • Applicant profile — optional information you share to strengthen landlord outreach (e.g., move-in date, occupation)
  • Payment information — processed securely by Stripe or Apple; we do not store your full payment card details

Information collected automatically

  • Device information — device type, OS version, app version
  • Push notification tokens — for delivering lead alerts and tour reminders
  • Usage data — interactions with the Service (e.g., leads viewed, outreach approved)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Match rental listings to your search preferences and score them
  • Draft and send outreach emails to landlords on your behalf (only with your explicit approval)
  • Schedule and send reminders for apartment tours
  • Send push notifications about new leads, tour updates, and outreach status
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Summarize and compress chat history to maintain performance
  • Respond to your requests and provide customer support

4. AI Processing

Homer uses third-party AI models (including Google Gemini) to power the conversational assistant, score listings, and generate draft communications. Your chat messages and search preferences are sent to these AI providers for processing. We do not use your data to train AI models. Our AI providers process data in accordance with their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

5. Information Sharing

We may share your information with:

  • Landlords and property managers — only the information included in outreach emails you explicitly approve
  • Service providers — including Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS verification), Google (AI processing), Convex (database), and Expo (push notifications)
  • Legal compliance — when required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Chat history is periodically summarized and compressed; older individual messages may be replaced by summaries. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

9. Push Notifications

Homer sends push notifications for new lead alerts, tour reminders, and outreach status updates. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications does not affect core Service functionality.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
